Kevin Bingham, ACAS, MAAA is the Chairman of our Annual Medical Malpractice Insurance ExecuSummit and is is a Principal in Deloitte’s Actuarial & Insurance Solutions Group. He joined the firm in 1997 after a five-year career with a major insurance company. He is a graduate of Clarkson University in Potsdam NY with a BS in mathematics. Mr. Bingham is currently the chairperson of the American Academy of Actuaries (AAA) Medical Malpractice Committee, official spokesperson on medical malpractice issues for the AAA in Washington and rate survey editor for the Medical Liability Monitor.

Mr. Bingham’s unique role at Deloitte Consulting involves consulting for the insurance consumer, insurance department and the insurance/reinsurance industry, and has given him a broad and comprehensive view on trends affecting all aspects of the insurance purchasing decision. The complex problems appearing during the course of his work experience has provided Kevin with dynamic research opportunities leading to the development of articles, papers and presentations addressing the key issues affecting insurance buyers and sellers. His publications regarding the insurance market have been the subject of panel discussions and presentations at a number of industry events and client presentations for employees and the board of directors.

Considered an actuarial expert in the medical malpractice community, Mr. Bingham has been heavily involved in medical liability issues through his work with regulators, associations, captives and insurance companies. He has provided expert support to insurance departments and companies involved with the analysis of tort reform and the public rate hearing process. Kevin’s work also includes Senate testimony, state examination work, actuarial analysis of rates and reserves, and the delivery of educational training.
